If you’re new to “With the Band,” you can go to the beginning of the current story arc by clicking here. We update every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. And if you’re here visiting from “Modest Medusa,” please spend some time reading my back catalogue. I’m no Jake Richmond, but I do okay, and I think you’ll enjoy the strip! Welcome to “With the Band!”
Last year one of my students took the SSAT (Secondary School Admissions Test). Her essay question was, “If you could talk to anyone in history, what three questions would you ask him or her.” This was just a couple of weeks after the Season 4 premiere of “The Walking Dead,” in which Rick revealed his three questions: “How many walkers have you killed, how many people have you killed, and why?” Sadly, my student didn’t watch the show, but I thought, how great would it have been if someone . . .
It’s Christmas Come Early at “With the Band,” and so I have a couple of awesome announcements! First, a note about webcomics and the holidays: traditionally comic ecdysiasts like myself take a couple of weeks off around this time of year, as I did last year. Also traditionally, if we’re lucky, other Strip Monkeys we do guest strips to fill our updates while we’re gone, like this one. It is in that tradition that the creator of one of my favorite webcomics (I read it every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday right after I read “Doonesbury!”), “Modest Medusa,” Jake Richmond, has given me the priceless gift of letting me play in his sandbox for a couple of weeks! There are two already in the cue, but there are a total of six in the mix! Check out the first strip here (and you can go back to the first pair of guest strips I did for Jake back in July here, if you want to see the setup for the current story), and if you like Modest (and how could you not love that much CUTE!), go to his archive and read his earlier seasons!
More holiday announcements on Monday . . .
