That isn’t a typo. Dr. Vandemar apparently thinks she actually IS the Pledge of Allegiance. What’s difficult to convey in this medium, though, is the rhythm of it. A poem like the Pledge only works because it has a set cadence, so that everyone can recite it together. In addition to getting the words wrong, Dr. Vandemar uses her own rhythm (or rhy–thm), and places the wrong emphasis on the syllables. It’s impossible to recite the Pledge with her . . . or it would be, were she real.
