New to “With the Band”? Start here!

To say I have mixed feelings about Disney producing a new Star Wars trilogy would be a gross understatement. I am tormented by conflicting feelings. Certainly I would love to see new adventures in a galaxy far, far away, and to have Mark Hamil, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford in those adventures is a huge bonus, but the thought of Disney producing said adventures . . .? *shudder*

Ultimately, though, I’m comforted by this one fact: there’s no way Disney/Abrams could skewer my Jedi heart any worse than George Lucas himself already did with Episodes II and III.

I realize that this comes a bit late. I thought of this strip back when the announcement first broke; I drew the first three panels shortly thereafter, but I didn’t have a comic yet in which to present it. In fact, this strip was one of the big motivations for me to finally re-launch “With the Band” as a webcomic in the first place. Even so, it’s taken me this long to post it for two reasons: one, because I needed to get the band together first, so that it wouldn’t be completely out of context; two, it’s taken this long to learn some of the technical aspects of using Photoshop I needed to draw a Death Star that didn’t suck.

Anyway, it’s done and I’m stupid-proud of it. I hope you enjoy it.
